Sports Camp - Monday - Part 4: Beyond Sports (2 of 2)

Sports Camp is about more than sports and snacks. It's also about doing some investigating. Today we checked out how we were each uniquely made for a purpose.

Each group was given Play-do. Each athlete was given a little bit and was assigned a part of the human body to form...a leg, head, body, arm, etc. Then we put the body together part by part.

Every Play-do person created was very different. This one is a super-buff basketball player.

Here's another basketball player but he's "lean and mean" with huge hops.

This one's pretty normal...with gigantic hands that are great for catching a baseball, palming a basketball, clapping loudly when cheerleading, and in a pinch paddling a canoe (no paddles needed).

Then we had great conversations in our small groups that helped us dig into the Bible.

We looked at Psalm 139:13, 14 (The Message): You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit, how I was sculpted from nothing into something. Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth; all the stages of my life were spread out before you, The days of my life all prepared before I'd even lived one day.

The kids decided that this verse says that God made us each unique and has special plans for each of us.

Here are the other verses we read and talked about: Ephesians 2:10, John 3:16 and James 1:18. Find a Bible sometime and see what those verses have to say!
