IMPACT Group Christmas Outreach

On November 13, 2013 one of our IMPACT night women's groups spent their evening preparing to reach out to the women and children of Laura's Home, part of the City Mission.  The ladies put together 100 BAGS of essentials for the women and 60 BAGS of goodies for the children.  The group then took the bags to Laura's Home and hosted a party for the women and children.  They had the opportunity to talk to the party guests about Jesus and then show them His love through the gift bags and party goodies.  This is the 4th year that this group has led this wonderful outreach.

Parma Heights Table Tennis Tournament and Exhibition Match

On May 10 & 11, PHBC hosted a USTTA Sanctioned Tournament.  The event began Friday night with Ohio’s #1 & 2 ranked players in the state demonstrating various skills at this very advanced level.  They concluded by sharing their testimonies and the gospel of Jesus Christ.  The tournament began at 9am Saturday with approximately 60 participants playing in a variety of divisions based on USTTA national player ratings.  The Brubaker Growth group served a meal and snacks (with cooking help from Dan Buncher) to all players and spectators.  David Peck was the tournament director and provided all of the tables, etc.  Even Pastor Kraig got in the act and entered his first tournament since college.  It was a beautiful day of bringing people together from several states, many ethnic, religious and linguistic backgrounds.

Community Thanksgiving Meal

Over 300 people from our church family helped to put on a meal for the people of our community last Thursday night. That number includes those who baked pies, parked cars, greeted guests at the door, cooked the food, served the meal, and those who ate at the table with the guests. Thank you for your response to serve others in Jesus' name. Over 250 people from outside of our church came to have a Thanksgiving meal served to them in an atmosphere where the love of God was permeating every square inch of the entire PHBC campus. It was a very successful and productive outreach. Many bridges of friendship were built that will have lasting impact as we continue to reach out to our mission field.

We were blessed to be the Cleveland Host Church for the James MacDonald Vertical Church Tour on September 14, 2012.  PHBC was buzzing with activity as the Vertical Church Tour team and our own team of volunteers prepared to greet over 700 people who came and were challenged to focus wholeheartedly on God's Word and our relationship with HIM.

40 Days Of Community Outreach - Anderson Small Group

What could be a better use and more fun on a Saturday than this:  a small group having a fantastic time doing yard work, some handyman repairs, and talking with an individual who recently had surgery for cancer and just started chemotherapy.  That's what our small group was able to do on a brisk October Saturday.  The woman we helped was a co-worker of one of the people in or small group.  It was one of those days that this is what God got us up to do today!  Thank God for the opportunity to be His hands and feet!

Jeff at the ladder, Tommy picking up the piles and Harold works the mower.
Kristin poses with the rake.  Funny thing is she never really used it.  She was serving inside on this mission trip.
Even Tim and Michael were able to clear the calendar to serve with our small group.
Some morning fuel to keep us moving!  Yeah for muffins!
Well, can you believe Tommy now has a new nick name - "leaf boy"

Takin' Him To The Malls

On December 13, 2009, the Worship Arts Ministry took 90 minutes of Christ-centered music to Parmatown and Southpark malls.  At 3:30 the "Ron Nelson" jazz trio started playing at Parmatown Mall, followed by the "brassphone 4" and finally our worship choir.  By the time the choir was finishing things up at Parmatown, the jazz trio had traveled to Southpark in Strongsville to begin our program their.
The whole idea behind this outreach is to draw a crowd that the musicians and people form our church could connect with.  The weather was beautiful, the crowds were very nice and it turned into wonderful night that was really enjoyed by the musicians and audience alike!  Thanks so much to everyone who supported this new endeavor!

Soul'd Out Quartet

What a fun night we had on Tuesday, November 24.  The wonderful, nationally known vocal group "Soul'd Out Quartet" spent a fantastic evening with us.  They entertained us, made us laugh, shared their lives and the gospel of Christ with a nice, full crowd for this year's Thanksgiving week Concert.
