Leadership Training
On March 3rd nearly 50 people involved in PHBC's Discipleship ministry met for leadership training. During the evening everyone discussed how they are ministering within Growth Groups, working on out-reach ministry and looking to God in up-reach.
An overview of "Simple Church" was given to everyone that attended. Tim Hunsicker reviewed the elements of becoming a simple church and challenged the leaders to avoid busyness in ministry. An introduction into the disciple making process that the Discipleship Ministry Team and Pastoral Staff have been developing was unveiled and presented. Our process is:
• Connect...with God in worship
• Grow...in Christ
• Serve...the world with love in Jesus Name
We completed the evening with a time of encouragement from Pastor Dan and prayed as groups for the church and community that we minister to.

Christmas Celebrations
The rest of the evening was spent laughing and playing as we enjoyed our annual Christmas Party, including an ugly sweater contest. What fun.

Word of Life Superbowl Outreach
In November our Youth Ministry had a fantastic evening of fun and outreach at the Word of Life Superbowl. Our teens invited their friend to join us for an all night of extreme excitement. We enjoyed a Monsters Hockey Game, followed by an amazing youth rally on the ice with games, raffles, contests, and give-aways. The Gospel was presented in a powerful way, and many responded to the invitation to make Christ their Lord and Savior. This was followed by a pizza party and hours of bowling, inflatables, sports, and games.

Christian College Tour
Choosing the right college is a difficult decision for many of our teens. There are many good options. However, private Christian Universities don't often have the same exposure with our students. As our teens move away from home and venture out into life on they own, it's important that they pursue God as they pursue their education and vocation. That's why each year we take our upperclassmen on a Christian College Tour. This give them the chance to checkout schools that will work hard to balance academics and spiritual formation.
This year we visited Mount Vernon Nazarene University, Cedarville University, Taylor University, Indiana Wesleyan University, Moody Bible Institute, and Wheaton College.

Cans for Good
On Sunday, November 4th, PHBC's Youth Ministry turned trick-or-treat into an opportunity to bless those less fortunate. Teens went out to their neighborhoods collecting non-perishable food items. The food items were counted, sorted and then donated to the PHBC Food Pantry and local food pantries. This annual food drive has provided for many local families in need. We were able to collect over 1200 non-perishable food items!

Community Thanksgiving Meal
Over 300 people from our church family helped to put on a meal for the people of our community last Thursday night. That number includes those who baked pies, parked cars, greeted guests at the door, cooked the food, served the meal, and those who ate at the table with the guests. Thank you for your response to serve others in Jesus' name. Over 250 people from outside of our church came to have a Thanksgiving meal served to them in an atmosphere where the love of God was permeating every square inch of the entire PHBC campus. It was a very successful and productive outreach. Many bridges of friendship were built that will have lasting impact as we continue to reach out to our mission field.
