Sports Camp Countdown - Saturday Training

It's only nine days until hundreds of kids from all over Cleveland ascend upon our church to take part in our "Focus Sports Camp". On Saturday, June 13, the children's ministry held it's final volunteer training. This three-hour long interactive morning was the third training session and was attended by about 40 of the newest volunteers and people who couldn't attend the previous sessions.

The morning started with one of the incredibly powerful clips from the movie "Facing The Giants." Then the sports camp leaders shared the purpose of the camp, registration procedures, everyone's roles, schedule, etc.















Then it was off to breakouts for each of the coaches to teach sport specific skills and approaches to their clinics to people assisting their skill area.

In the last large-group session, several people covered safety, discipline, how to teach the small group cirriculum and Pam did a great job of showing everyone how to share the gospel using the bridge illustration.

Everything is lining up for this incredible week at PHBC. Please pray for God's leading through sports camp and through the follow-up events that are being planned!

OneEightyOne $1 Car Wash

On June 11th, PHBC's OneeightyOne Student Ministry washed cars for free and gave people from the community $1! We had so much fun and washed 15 cars!

We also gave them a card reminding them Jesus loves them and always will. Brittany is giving one of those away in this picture.

Intern Lock-in

We had a great time at our annual Intern Lock-in. Fifty students showed up for a great night of fun, fellowship and hearing what God has done in the lives of our interns. Brittany and Emily did a great job getting the students to interact and making the new 7th graders feel welcome. The night's theme was Transparency and our interns lived that out as they spent time sharing about their own struggles and talking with our students.

SUPERCHARGE!

LAST SUPERCHARGED EVENT FOR THE 6TH GRADERS!

We celebrated the 6th graders leaving supercharge and entering into the preteen group. We played games, ate pizza (every 5th-6th graders favorite!), learned a lesson about being good friends, and acted out SUPER funny skits! The 6th graders will be very missed, but we're excited about welcoming in the new 5th graders!

Youth Midweek Mission Project

Since the weather did not cooperate for our $1 Car Wash, the students spent 2 hours stuffing about 3,500 bags with candy and flyers to promote our upcoming Vacation Bible School. They had so much fun!

We finished the evening playing Pastor Brent's favorite mixer game called Drop The Keys. (It's kinda like human Twister!)

Prank on Pastor Brent

The students decided to love on Pastor Brent by decorating his office with confetti while he was on vacation with his family to Disneyworld. They must love him a lot since this is like the third prank in 6 months.

They put confetti on all over his books shelves, in his books, in his desk drawers, in his files and everywhere they could. It took Pastor Brent over an hour to clean up all of it, though he will certainly be finding more of it for years to come!

A Hearty Group - Worship Arts Picnic

What happens when lots of people work, play and serve hard all year long? They EAT!!! On Wednesday, June 2, over 100 people from the worship arts ministry had their annual Spring picnic to celebrate the year, connect families outside of rehearsal and worship, and just have a great time together. We even got to celebrate the 50th wedding anniversary of two worship choir members!

The picnic was held in one of the beautiful Cleveland metro parks - though it was one of those chilly 59 degree spring days. The kids had a great time playing soccer.
